So Much to See and Do Here in Greencastle!

The Neighborhood

1. DePauw University

Explore the beautiful DePauw University campus and enjoy Music and Festivals at the Green Center which is open to the public. Check the DePauw website for even information. https://www.depauw.edu/

2. First Friday

Every year the town of Greencastle hosts First Fridays in the summer. The First Friday of every month from May- October, you can enjoy free live music, great food, vendors and art. It starts at 6pm- 9pm. There is something for the whole family to enjoy! https://goputnam.com/

3. Robe Ann Park

Robe Ann Park is a short walk from the house and is perfect for picnics or playing at the playground. During the summer there is music on Tuesday and there is also a pool and a splash park. You can even play tennis or baseball here. It is a great place to take the kids.

4. Farmers Market

The Farmers market is a wonderful weekly event on Saturday 8-12 during June-first week of October. Here you can find all kinds of locally produced goods and food. Located in in town by the courthouse.

Food

1. Bridges Craft Pizza and Wine Bar

If you love pizza this is one of our favorite spots in town plus it is within walking distance! They have a rooftop if you want to see scenic views great food. Perfect for a fun date night or lunch with friends. Note you may need to reserve a table during peak hours.

2. Breadworks

Love coffee? This is our favorite coffee shop in town, you can even get doughnuts, pastries, breakfast sandwiches and fresh baked bread.

3. Almost Home Restaurant

This place is so family friendly and perfect for large get togethers. They have great food and a homey atmosphere. They even have a bar connected were you can go to enjoy open mic night.

4. The Fluttering Duck

The Fluttering duck is a bar/restaurant and it is just down the street from the house. They will play Jazz in the summer on Thursdays and has great outdoor seating.

5. Scoops Ice Cream Parlor

The best ice cream shop in town! Every time you walk through the doors it smells amazing because they make their own cones! Highly recommend getting a scoop here while exploring the town.

6. Tokyo Steak of Japan

If you love sushi and want it delivered this is the perfect place for you. I love getting sushi here. There is a variety of food to choose from and it is always tasty.

Hiking

1. Lieber State Park

Great hiking spot and stunning waterfalls. There is also a small beach there and a place to dock your boat.

2. Turkey Run State Park

Turkey Run is about an 1 hour drive from the home and is one of my favorite places to hike. There are so many trails here you can spend all day here. They even have a pool and campgrounds.

3. DePauw Nature Park

This park was once a quarry and now is filled with a pond and beautiful trails for everyone to enjoy. Highly recommend if you are looking to hike near by the home.

Night Life

1. The Whisk

If you are looking for a unique underground bar this is the place for you it is actually located underground!

2. The Swizzle Stick Open Mike Night

Monday from 6 to 9 pm you can go and hear wonderful local artist perform. It if fun for the whole family.

Shopping

1. Conspire

This is a craft store that has lots of unique and funky art and crafts made by hand. It is definitely a fun place to check out.

2. Creative Castle

Creative Castle just opened up and it is an artisan craft store. If you like handmade gifts this store is perfect for you! All items are made locally :)

3. Blushing Beaus Boutique

Looking for a cute Boutique while you are in town? This is one of my favorite places to shop for woman's clothing. Located in the square and with in walking distance.
